Introducing Our Team
Our coaches bring with them experience from various rowing clubs throughout Ontario. We track our rowers progress through our centralized coaching notes in order to ensure we are all up to date on your path and current goals; be they fitness, competition and/or pleasure. We provide you with as much space or coaching as you need to enjoy the serenity or improve your speed. Our passion is helping others with their passion, and only coaches who share this passion join our team.
All of our coaches can be booked for one-on-one personal coaching sessions, and they all help out with the various group sessions happening every morning during rowing season.
Co-founder and Head Coach
A rower since 1995 and coach since 1999, Kathy brings great energy, true passion and a lot of experience with her to work every day. After practicing as an Engineer for just under 10 years, while rowing and coaching in Peterborough, London and Barrie, she decided to help others with their passions by following hers and started Hatchets Rowing Centre with Jeremy Fowler in the spring of 2009.
Co-founder and Coach
Water has long been one of Jeremy's passions. He has been on the water in any way possible since he was born, and started rowing in 1993 in St. Catharines. After rowing and coaching in St. Catharines, Thunder Bay, Barrie and Muskoka, he started Hatchets Rowing Centre with Kathy in the spring of 2009. He now coaches with us whenever time allows as he runs the historic wooden boat building shop, Duke Boats, right next door.
Coach - Port Carling
Lily learned to row with Hatchets Rowing Centre when she was 13yrs old. She came to us a strong, dedicated, caring and trustworthy individual with a thirst for knowledge. She is now going into her third summer coaching with us. We feel fortunate to have one of Muskoka's finest among us coaching every day and love hearing all the great feedback from our rowers on Lily.
Coach - Parry Sound
Rowing has been in Marie's blood since before she was born, with her parents meeting while rowing. Marie started rowing in 1997 out of the Leader Boat Club for Westdale Secondary School, and then from 2002-2007 for Trent University in Peterborough. She now lives with her husband and two children near Parry Sound on Georgian Bay and is bringing her competitive drive, technical coaching ability and amazing positive energy to our high school program in Parry Sound.
