20km Afternoon Row on Lake Rosseau
SUNDAY, AUGUST 16TH, 2025, PORT CARLING, ON
EMAIL TO REGISTER
We like to take advantage of long summer days to explore areas of the Muskoka Lakes in open water rowing shells that we don’t get to see in our daily lessons. Come ready for lots of rowing, chatting and improvising as we go on our adventure!
People often ask what skill level they need to row at for this event. Experience in a racing single is not necessary, but you should be able to row 9km comfortably in a touring single in approximately an hour. This will allow you to enjoy the journey and feel like you had a great day outside, without being too sore.
We begin and end in Port Carling from Hatchets which makes the logistics easy for such a fun outing. We start by rowing up through the locks in Port carling, then we wind our way through many islands on Lake Rosseau to a destination to stop for a bite to eat and a social, prior to heading back. Just bring yourself, your rowing clothing/sun/rain gear, some snacks and water for along the way and a card to tap to grab a bite to eat, a treat or a drink at our rest stop. This year we are still planning our destination - but it will be announced soon!
The cost is $50 per person (inc HST) and includes all rowing and safety equipment, the same as our lessons. We will be guiding and accompanying from a combination of rowing shells and safety boats depending on who is rowing and the rowing conditions.
Feel free to email us with any questions about the event. See you there!
