It's ALREADY the 3rd week of Summer Rowing!

Check out all that we've got going on this week!

The Muskoka Poker Run is this Saturday, July 24th!

It's not too late to register! REGISTER HERE!

This is our annual 22km singles race/row, open for both racing shells and open water shells. It starts in Port Carling and follows the top of Lake Muskoka on a loop, finishing back in Port Carling!

This year we will be running it as a race/row where we all line up at the start and row hard, but no one is timing you. The race part means, we’re all pushing ourselves for the shear joy of the torture. In the end, we all take away our own personal experiences without having to compare times.

For a refresher on the course see the video below from previous years for the race. We will have several safety boats following along with the groups!

This Year's Indian River Relay is Tuesday, July 27th!

All Rowers are Welcome! REGISTER HERE!

This is our annual regatta to bring rowers of all abilities together in a fun relay race. Teams of 4 rowers of mixed abilities are created on the day of the race and racing takes place in two touring singles. Team mates take turns rowing 600m and the fastest team time for the day wins a big high five and the painting of their hand prints on the dock.

The race starts at 9am, with boats on the dock at 8am for those who want to test them out.

We always have lots of refreshments out for before/during/after the event, and if you’d like to bring something to share feel free (no nuts please)! For more information or to register for this awesome event visit our website!

The Row to Windermere is Wednesday, July 28th!

Registration is open! REGISTER HERE!

This will be our second mid-week long afternoon row of the summer! We will be traveling through the locks in Port Carling, out to Windermere House, and around Tobins Island to make it a 20km outing for the day.

We will stop mid-way for a rest, a washroom break and some refreshments (bring your own). Just bring yourself, your rowing clothing/sun/rain gear, some food and snacks and water for along the way and a bit of money for a treat at our rest stop.

THANK YOU!

Thank you once again to all of our rowers and coaches this summer. We loved growing rowing with you, as well as working on our skills, and our physical and mental well being together.

Today marked the last day for the season of formal lessons but please have a read below for some info you may not want to miss.

- No planned formal fall rows. BUT Jeremy and Kathy will be rowing. If you want them to let you know so you can join, email us and they will!
- If you have anything you'd like to share - we always love to hear about great experiences we could either share with others on our website (or keep private:) ) AND also about any suggestions or feedback you have...or desires for future years. Our programs grow from our rowers comments and desires so ask and you shall receive!
- For our junior scullers or others interested - we will be sending out info as we get into the fall about the possibility of taking coaching course levels through RowOntario/Rowing Canada and volunteering with us next year. This is great for volunteer hours, your resume, future coaching employment and amazing fun. Watch for more info as the year progresses.
- Watch for pictures from the summer in the coming weeks. It is always fun to sort through the memories as the weather begins to cool.
